Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If interested in an application to adopt or to learn more about MJ please contact Carrie Bowman at 731-267-5535 or email cabowman67@yahoo.com
Mary Jo aka MJ is a 2 year old Labrador Retriever mix weighing about 60 lbs. She was surrendered to one of our TN rescue partners from a hoarding situation. MJ is a very sweet and loving girl who enjoys belly rubs and cuddle time with her people. She's very happy about the love and attention she is receiving in foster care and would love a home where she is the only pet and can be the center of attention. She's learning about toys and loves to chew on bones, but is a little afraid of those funny squeaky toys! She had a 13 year old boy in her southern foster home and liked to play and explore with him. MJ is both house and crate trained and walks well on leash, however will do best with a fenced in yard. She's missing part of her left ear after being attacked by a dog in the hoarding home - no fault of hers! MJ is looking for a home where she feels safe and wanted. She would probably not be comfortable in a doggy daycare or dog park environment. This sweetheart will make a great companion and wonderful family member. Great opportunity to skip the puppy stage, but still adopt a dog in their younger years.

We first require an adoption application be completed. We ask for vet references in addition to personal (non family) references. We then put you in touch with the foster parents to discuss the dog you are inquiring about. We feel this gives us a better understanding if the dog is a fit for your home. A contract is required upon approval and adoption fees are paid through pay pal or directly to our vet and the transport company.

More about this rescue
We are a foster based rescue. Our dogs-puppies come from various sources- individuals who must surrender their animals, unwanted litters, abandoned dogs, some from abused situations and we pull many from high kill shelters in West Tennessee. We started as a group of girls who wanted to make a difference. Today we have added a few guys and still our goal is the same. We also use part of the adoption fees to ensure all mothers we receive pups from are altered and offer when we can help to those who cannot afford to have their pet altered.
