My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Lucile. I was surrendered to rescue in 2023 and, after lots of ups and downs, am now ready to find my forever home. Through it all I've been a happy, loving girl that is sweet and friendly. I can't believe I am ready for a new home! I am excited to experience this for myself as I've seen a lot of my cat friends go to new homes.

Before I came to rescue, I had broken my ribs countless times prior to rescue. The rescue does not know why. It took many months for me to heal and unfortunatley,  I developed dry FIP and received the 84 day treatment. When I was midway through observation after the 84 days, the FIP came back so I needed to be treated for another 84 days. I wasn't very happy about that but i kept my sunny disposition through it all.

During this time I was diagnosed with early signs of IBD. I'm doing very well now and am currently not on any meds or special diet. I may need meds or special food in the future, but only if I have a  flare up. During my dental exam they thought it would be best for me if some teeth were removed. Now I have a silly kind of smile.

Things are finally calm and all the medical trials are behind me.  I hope you choose to be the lucky one to give me my forever home.

Additional adoption info

All of the cats and kittens adopted from St. Francis have been vaccinated, tested for FeLV/FIV, dewormed, treated for fleas and ticks, spayed or neutered and microchipped. We do our best to ensure that the pet you adopt is healthy and happy.

We feel it is important for all potential adopters to meet and spend some time with the cat or kitten they would like adopt. Our trained volunteers will assist in helping adopters choose the cat that will fit in best with your household.

Go meet their pets

Because we are a foster rescue, we do not have a shelter or physical location. To meet our cats and kittens, please phone or email us to arrange a date and time meet them. You can also meet our cats at our Meet and Greet events.

Two Saturdays each month, St. Francis holds a Meet and Greet event from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the PetSmart store in Forest Lake, MN. Anyone wishing to meet our cats and kittens is invited to attend our Meet and Greet events. We have a quiet room where potential adopters and meet and socialize with any cats/kittens that they are interested in adopting.

More about this rescue

St. Francis Animal Rescue (SFAAR) is a volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are dedicated to rescuing and rehoming homeless, neglected, stray and otherwise unwanted cats and kittens. Until they are adopted, our rescued cats live in loving foster homes as part of the family while we learn about their personalities, behaviors and temperaments. Foster families work with their cats/kittens to teach them good manners, care for any medical problems, and address any behavior issues. This information helps our adoption counselors match the perfect pet for you and your family.
