This beautiful soul is funny and playful and talkative, and just about the most talented pouncer you will ever en-counter — she wants to show off her skills again and again, as she waits patiently for someone to sneak a toy past her. Then again, a smart cat will never pass up the chance for a good siesta, and she is most definitely a VERY smart cat, so afternoons are frequently passed curled up in her favorite spot on the sofa, just waiting for the excitement that comes with the end of the humans’ work day. We have a fairly large home, and she likes to run between the levels or quietly explore, looking out windows or peeking in closets, or just running up the stairs to jump on the bed in “her” room. We often hear her using the scratchy-pad in her room before she runs rapid-fire down the stairs to jump into her favorite kitty-cube. She LOVES to sit on our screened-in porch and watch the birds and wildlife go by.
Her history is one of multiple losses, as she has been in a number of homes, none of which were her fault. In the few months she has been with us, we have found her to be exceptionally well-behaved, perfect in her use of the litter box, rare to jump up on countertops or to scratch furniture (and very quick to jump down or cease scratching once she hears “noooo…”). She does not try to escape through open doors when we come and go.
She came to us as “Betty,” which was at least her third name, but once she adjusted to us she kept pop-ping up in unexpected places, causing us to remark, “OH! Peekaboo!” and eventually, we started to call her “Boo,” which she responds to. Boo desperately wants to give and receive the love she deserves. She happily gives attention to the humans of the house, whether that means joining us on the sofa for an evening of TV with her teddy-bear paws crossed as she watches the screen, or trying to give head butts to someone who is trying to exercise on the floor, and will happily allow for snuggles of her ears and slow pets down her back, with a loud purr to let you know you’ve hit “just the right spot.”
She is an amazing, sweet girl who deserves the very best.
Betty is spayed, vaccinated, disease tested and microchipped and will come with all medical records.
The first step in the adoption process is to complete our online application. Once approved, we can connect you with the foster parent(s) of the kitty(s) you're interested in meeting! Adoption fees and other information are available here.
