Ambrose is an absolutely stunning 6 y/o, male, hound mix who currently weighs right under 35 pounds. He is full of such love and affection and he is also a very friendly, perfect gentleman in his current foster home. And let us tell you, he has the cutest little “happy feet” when he’s excited! You can check his video’s out on our FB page and Instagram pages and/or we can also text/share them directly with you, upon request. :)
Don’t be fooled by his age, this guy is still young both at heart and physically. When out playing in his foster yard, he still gets the “zoomies”. He would actually make a great hiking or jogging partner, he will walk or run just as fast and as long as you’re willing. He is very calm natured in the house, crate trained (he absolutely loves his crate and it’s also apparent that it serves as his “safe space”) and he appears to be house trained as well. He has another “doggie housemate” in his current foster home and seems to have no issues with him.
Ambrose is “near and dear” to our hearts and he deserves to find his perfect happily ever after! His whole world was unexpectedly flipped upside down earlier this year, in February, before coming to our rescue in May. Ambrose was a heartbreaking owner surrender story from Cherokee County, GA. We aren’t exactly sure of what the full circumstances were that forced them into the animal shelter, but we are confident it was clearly and absolutely no fault of Ambrose. It was an unfortunate and life altering sudden change for his “hooman” and Ambrose too. Upon surrender, Ambrose’s previous “hooman” was clearly devastated and heartbroken, as he sat with Ambrose, in the shelter, that whole entire day and constantly shed tears for having to do such a thing, but he had no other choice. This was clearly a heartbreaking situation for everyone, in every which way possible. :(
It was not easy and very confusing and scary for Ambrose as well, as he had known one human and one home up to this point, for his entire 6 years of life! He was not doing well in the shelter. He was extremely human friendly, but he was so scared and shut down, that he had to literally be carried outside to potty and would not play or do any happy dog activities. With time, he was slowly doing better in some aspects, but he was still struggling, confused and lonely and found himself on the urgent list, as space was filling up at the shelter. We decided as soon as this story and situation was shared with us, we had to rescue this boy and save Ambrose.! Now, within just a few days in his foster home, he has fully decompressed and come back to the beautiful, happy, and thriving hound dog that he has always been and is ready for his new forever home!
You don’t have to wait for him! Ambrose is ready to go home immediately upon application approval and meet and greet(s)! He is current on all vaccines, neutered and microchipped.
