Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Mittens is a spunky, opinionated girl who found herself back at MHS after the unexpected passing of her beloved owner. She’s understandably having a tougher time adjusting and clearly misses having her person, but beneath the stress is a cat with a big personality and plenty of charm. Mittens is full of attitude in the best way and loves doing things on her own terms. One of her favorite pastimes is soaking up the sunshine—she’s happiest lounging on her back with her belly to the sun, especially during porch time in the warmer months.
Mittens would do best as the only cat in the home, where she can enjoy her space and truly relax without feeling crowded. She’s polydactyl and not a big fan of handling, so she’ll thrive with an adopter who respects her boundaries and is willing to work with a veterinarian to make things like nail care and vet visits as low-stress as possible. Providing plenty of scratching options will help her manage her nails on her own. With a calm, understanding home and a little patience, Mittens has the potential to settle back into herself and be a wonderfully entertaining, sun-loving companion.
