My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Colby Jack – Your New Best (and Goofiest) Friend! 🧀🐾

Colby Jack is a 1.5-year-old cattle dog mix with a heart as big as his ears and a personality that’ll have you smiling nonstop. Once a scruffy little stray with some health hiccups, this handsome guy has bounced back beautifully—he's gained weight, his tail wags like a propeller, and his silly side is shining bright!

He’s a social butterfly who loves to play with other pups, whether they’re high-energy zoomie machines or more chill cuddle buddies. Colby Jack is the king of cuddles himself—he’ll try to melt right into your lap for snuggles (yep, all 40+ pounds of him). This pup is all about love, affection, and goofy grins.

He’s fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped—ready to trot straight into your heart and home. House-trained? You bet. Kennel-trained? Absolutely. Kid-friendly? For sure—his playful and gentle nature makes him a great match for little humans. As for cats, he might try to herd them (hey, he's a cattle dog!), but with some patience and guidance, he could learn that not all fluffy things need to be organized.

Colby Jack’s story started rough, but now he’s just looking for his forever family to share his snuggles, zoomies, and squeaky toys with. Could that be you?

Additional adoption info

We do a 1-2 week trial period to allow adopters to see if it is a good match.

We allow them to bring their own dogs in to see how they get along in our facility. This way it can be done in “neutral” territory.

Go meet their pets

We are located in Queen Creek, AZ in a residential neighborhood where we also run a dog daycare and boarding sanctuary. We are open all days of the week. Meeting the rescue dogs is through approved appointment times

More about this shelter

We serve as the last ray of hope for countless animals entrusted in our care. Our unwavering commitment is to provide a human and compassionate sanctuary here in Queen Creek. We run out of our doggy daycare and boarding here in Queen Creek, Bill’s Mutt House. Euthanasia is an absolute last resort, reserved for animals whose severe illness or injury render them unable to experience a good quality of life, or those who pose a threat to the well-being of humans or other dogs. We never resort to euthanasia to space constraints or time limitations. Instead we exhaust every effort to each and every animal under our guardianship. The indescribable joy of giving abandoned, injured, abused, or mistreated makes every challenge faced by our dedicated team worthwhile. Our unwavering dedication ensures that these deserving animals not only survive but thrive in their forever homes.
