Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Nutmeg is a nearly 6-month-old female Border Collie or Border Collie mix. She has made great progress since coming into foster, having blossomed into a very friendly pup who craves attention and pets. Nutmeg is pretty high drive yet can entertain herself with toys and will exercise herself roaming the yard. She has very good recall and walks on the leash well.
Nutmeg gets along well with other dogs and a dog tolerant cat. She sleeps in her crate quietly all night and is reasonably housebroken (although it is not uncommon for a few accidents when a dog is getting used to its new home). She is fairly quiet with minimal barking.
Nutmeg will need someone who will continue her training to make her into the best dog possible. Her ideal adopter(s) will be very active and outdoorsy. Nutmeg’s energy needs will not be satisfied with hanging out in the backyard all day and twice a day leash walks around the neighborhood. She would likely turn to destructive behaviors out of boredom. Nutmeg has a very high drive herding tendency and will not be placed in a home with livestock. It is unknown how she would do with children; however, her strong herding tendency would not make her a great candidate for a home with young children.
Nutmeg is presently being fostered in Central Oregon. She is up to date on her vaccinations and has been wormed and microchipped. Nutmeg’s adoption fee is $400.
