This sweet black Lab mix is all joy and playful energy! River is a social butterfly who loves playing with other dogs and has mastered the art of fun. He’s crate trained, doing great with the doggie door, and already knows how to “sit” and “stay” (especially if treats are involved!).
River is a ball-chasing enthusiast—retrieving is still a work in progress, but enthusiasm is off the charts. A home with a yard is a must and he’s ready to keep learning and growing with the help of some puppy training classes.

You will meet with an Adoption Consultant and discuss your lifestyle, activity level, expectations, likes/dislikes, and past experiences with animals. Your consultant will then recommend the best match for your family and your lifestyle.

We do not own a kennel / shelter type facility. In most cases, we believe one of the effective and successful ways to match families and pets is to foster them in our own homes. Fostering dogs allows us to help train the dogs to have good doggie manners and allows us to learn about the dog's personality and character. Ultimately allowing us to give potential adopters complete information on the pet's behavior and how well he / she will fit with a family and lifestyle. Unfortunately, when we are not able to find the most appropriate foster home, we will on occasion utilize a private kennel on a case by case basis.
