Meet Onyx, a sweet 1-year-old mixed breed who was found as a stray in Broward County, living in poor conditions, before being brought to Big Dog Ranch in May 2025 to begin her search for a forever home filled with love and kindness. Onyx is a gentle soul with a low energy level, making her an easygoing companion for a calm and patient household. She gets along well with other dogs and would truly benefit from having a confident canine friend in the home to help show her the ropes and bring her out of her shell. She’s housetrained, enjoys playing with her toys, and is happiest when she feels safe and secure. Because of her past, Onyx can be shy and timid when first meeting new people. But with patience, love, and time, she blossoms into the sweet, loyal, and affectionate girl she was meant to be. Watching her confidence grow will be one of the most rewarding experiences for the special family who chooses her. If you’re looking for a tender-hearted companion who just needs a little extra love to shine, Onyx may be the perfect match for you!

If you are interested in adopting a dog from us please visit the ranch. Our website adoptions page has all of our availalbe dogs and our adoption application at www.bdrr.org/adopt. This will help us make sure we find you the right dog to fit your situation and family. You are welcomed to come to the ranch seven days a week or you can make an appointment with our adoption desk. Our adoption fees range depending on the dog's breed, age and other factors.
