Chevy’s story isn’t perfect—but it’s powerful, and he’s ready to write his next chapter with someone who sees beyond the surface.
Chevy came to us from our local city shelter after experiencing neglect in his past. 😥 Thankfully, he’s now thriving in a loving foster home, and his transformation has been incredible. With some much-needed TLC, Chevy’s skin and coat have improved dramatically, and his sweet personality is finally shining through. 💙
While Chevy is housebroken, he gets so excited when his person comes home that he sometimes lets out a little dribble — but his foster says he is improving each day. He’s also fantastic in his crate! 🐾 He keeps it clean and rests quietly, making it a comfortable and stress-free space for him.
Chevy picked up leash skills quickly and just needs consistency and positive reinforcement to keep up the great work. 💪 That said, he can be leash and fence reactive when he sees other dogs, which makes walks a bit intense for him. Even slow introductions with calm dogs can be overwhelming, so Chevy would do best as the only pet in the home, or with very gradual, structured introductions over time.
Everyone who meets Chevy falls in love with his gentle, affectionate nature and his soulful eyes—you’ll definitely fall head over heels. 😍 He’s an excellent cuddler, a great listener, and easy to redirect. He absolutely adores car rides 🚗 and playing with toys 🧸. Chevy’s just as happy romping around with his humans as he is entertaining himself with a toy or two!
Chevy is strong, energetic, and full of big feelings he’s still learning how to manage. Because of this, he’s looking for a home without children and with experienced, dog-savvy humans who understand the effects of trauma and are ready to help him continue healing. He’s not a beginner’s dog—but for someone with patience, empathy, and a good sense of humor, Chevy is a truly special companion.
On a side note: He's been called Wet Greg (or just Greg) for months now, and he seems to love it 🤭
If you're looking for a loyal, loving dog who’s come a long way and is ready for a brighter future, Chevy might be the perfect fit. He’s amazing, a little mixed up, and absolutely worth it. 🥰
