My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing the stunning Silver, a resilient and unique gray tabby whose journey is a testament to strength and spirit.

Silver arrived at HSAC after being rescued from a neglectful situation, found caring for her five tiny, 5-week-old kittens. She was a truly fantastic mother, pouring all her love and energy into their care. Once her maternal duties were fulfilled and her kittens were safely weaned, Silver was ready for her next chapter—one that focuses entirely on her own future.

It breaks our hearts that she is still waiting for a home. This beautiful girl has a very laid back personality; you can often find her peacefully sunbathing in the outdoor enclosure or taking a cat nap on the cat towers. She moves to the rhythm of her own heart and deserves a space where she can truly shine.

Silver has specific needs born from her past experiences. She tends to be selective with male cats, as her previous encounters unfortunately centered around breeding, a life she has firmly left behind. She generally integrates well with other female cats but requires a safe, dog-free sanctuary. Her aversion to dogs is strong, and for her well-being and peace of mind, we are seeking a home where she can relax without canine companions.

Despite her boundaries, Silver is a deeply deserving cat with a beautiful soul waiting to connect with the right person.

Her care profile includes:

Behavioral: Litter box trained, indoor-only cat.

Health & Wellness: Fully vetted, up-to-date on all vaccines, combo tested with negative results, treated for all parasites, and maintained on a basic adult cat food diet.

Silver has so much love to give to a family willing to understand her story and provide the peaceful, secure environment she so desperately craves.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is made up of two parts. Upon a decision to adopt an animal we require an application for adoption that asks questions such as housing and veterinary references. We then check references and may require a home visit. Upon approval you will fill out a contract for adoption and pay the adoption fees. Adoption fees are based on age and vetting required.
