Here's what the humans have to say about me:
In Epsom: Hi! My name is Merle, and this is my application to be your best friend. I am a 55lb, 1 year old, neutered male Aussie x Border Collie. Fully up to date on vaccines and flea and tick/HW prevention.
My list of favorite things in the whole wide world are;
- Laying down in streams and swimming with my friends
- Chasing my herding ball
- Going for car rides (and propping my arm up!)
- Giving my foster baby kisses. I love when he laughs at me! I am so gentle.
- Pup cups at the drive through
- Snuggles
I am such a good boy when I settle after playing outside. I am very good at laying down on my bed with a toy and chewing it calmly. I am an angel in my crate. I go in very nicely and settle very well. I sleep in there overnight so I don’t get into mischief, and I never make a peep!
I NEVER have accidents - I only potty outside, like the best boy I am.
I love my dog friends, and can get along with anyone, though I am happy playing independently with my ball. I am good with my foster cats, but get excited when they run around, so prefer a cat that can tolerate my playful nature. I live with horses currently, and get along with them as well.
I do need exercise every day, and love to run hard. I need to exercise to maintain my good boy status. If I do not, I like to find entertainment on my own (and I WILL eat your socks)!
I’m good at sitting, lying down, and coming when called, especially when cookies are involved. I’m working so hard not to jump, and learning that barking at new friends isn’t what I should do to greet people (but sitting is just so dang hard sometimes!!). My foster mom thinks with consistent redirection, I’ll be a pro in no time. My leash manners have come a long way & I know I’ll get it in no time. I get distracted occasionally, but I can easily be refocused (with cookies - do you see a theme here?!). I do wonderfully bombing around off leash, and my recall is getting better daily.
Basically, I’m the sweetest, cuddliest, kindest, most handsome boy to ever walk the earth. I would really love to find my forever person that loves to play outside, go swimming, and bonus points if they know a kid that I can give kisses to and love forever!
