Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Joe is an energetic, adventure-loving boy who wakes up every day ready for fun. From a good game of fetch to chewing his favorite bone, Joe truly loves life and wants a family who’s excited to live it alongside him.
This happy guy has serious adventure-seeker energy. He’s the kind of dog who makes you want to clip on a leash, hit the trail, and explore the sights and sounds of nature together. His coarse, long coat just means winter adventures last a little longer—Joe is built for the outdoors!
Joe already has some great manners and skills under his belt:
House trained ✅
Crates quietly 🏠
Knows several commands 🧠
Loves fetch and enrichment toys 🎾🦴
Thrives with structure, routine, and an active lifestyle
Joe is a confident, enthusiastic guy who prefers to focus his attention on his people. He can become overly excited around other dogs and may struggle to respect their boundaries, so he’s looking for a home where he can be the main character and soak up all that one-on-one companionship.
If you’re looking for a fun, active, life-loving dog who’s ready to be your hiking buddy, adventure partner, and best friend, Joe might be your perfect match. Come meet him and see if your next adventure starts here.

More about this shelter
We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!
Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
