My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

**MIA**

A friend in California rescued Mia after her previous owner abandoned her and her sister at a groomer. Mia is a 5-year-old female Dorgi, a mix of Corgi and Dachshund. She is intelligent, protective, loving, and independent. Trusting new people may take her a few days, but treats can help. Once comfortable, Mia loves belly rubs, playing with her toys, chewing on her split Elk antler, and running around the yard. She has a great personality and is incredibly loyal to her favorite human. Mia does not require constant attention and is happy to sit and chew on her antler while her owner works. However, when it's time for affection, she will put down her antler to enjoy quality time with her human. Mia's need for a loving owner will inspire compassion and care in anyone who meets her.

What Mia Needs:
Mia needs a home without children or small animals, as she prefers to be the only pet. She loves attention and requires someone to provide her with plenty of love and care. Additionally, she needs a fenced yard for potty breaks and walks. Keeping her on a healthy, canine-specific diet to ensure her well-being is essential, reflecting your commitment and responsibility as an owner. We will offer comprehensive guidance on how to care for her. Most importantly, Mia needs a loving person dedicated to keeping her forever and will never abandon her again.

MIA is very protective and needs proper introductions with new people as she will try to protect her human and her home (it's a trait of the corgi-dachshund if not kept well socialized). Once she meets new people and sees them consistently, she makes friends.

How Can You Meet Mia?
To meet Mia, please use the link provided to apply. One of our volunteers will review your application and contact you to answer any questions and determine if you are a good match for Mia. Mia's need for a loving owner will make you feel compassionate and caring.

Mia has been transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble and follows a healthy, canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate her adopters about proper diet and nutrition.

There is a $350.00 adoption fee to adopt Mia. All funds will be used to cover her medical care and to help rescue more dogs.

Adopting a Dog requires a lot of work and is a commitment!
Adoption: If you think you have room in your home and heart for a new rescue dog, please go to our website: http://rompinpawsrescue.rescuegroups.org/

Healthy dogs: As a rescue saving dogs from starvation, Neglect, and Emaciation, RPR focuses on feeding each rescued animal the healthiest dog food made of Human Grade ingredients to help them recover from their stress and starvation. We share this with our adopters and encourage them to keep their new pets on the same foods for optimal health and long life.

OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR DOG ADOPTION:

1) These dogs are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home.

2) We give preference to applicants with prior small breed knowledge/ experiences.

3) Secure visible fencing required.

4) You must have a plan in place to socialize your dog properly.

5) The FASTEST way to be considered for a dog is to fill out an application. If you write, it will delay your application and put you at the back of the line. The folks processing applications are volunteers that have their own dogs, families, and job responsibilities. We do our best to get applications done quickly.

We bring dogs from up from California. There are transportation costs for each dog. Then the dogs need to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, groomed, and some are placed with fosters, or set up at the adoption facility in Arlington. We do not receive any grants so we rely solely on adoption fees and donations to fund all of our rescue efforts. Finally, we take on "Special Needs" dogs with high vet costs and pay for their procedures with 'leftover' funds from adoption fees for healthier dogs.

Our passion is to bring people and pets together. Countless dogs are without homes and in need of assistance. These are dogs who would make wonderful and faithful companions if only they could connect with the right person or family. We have made it our mission to help them do this. At the same time, we hope to enrich the lives of those who adopt them.

We strive to match our dog's needs and personality to the preferences and requirements of each potential adopter. We believe this is a crucial component of the process and will help ensure a life-long relationship.

Our primary focus is on small mixed breeds, moms, and puppies of small and large breeds, although we do occasionally take in larger dogs. We work collaboratively with shelters, other rescue groups, and individuals, both locally and in California..

RPR was established in April 2015. We placed 400 dogs in our first year of operation in a small facility on acreage in Arlington, Washington.

We have a few local fosters and seek to increase our foster base in order to save more lives

Come Meet Our Pets...
We have a home-based operation on Acreage in Arlington and Our dogs are placed in foster homes around the greater Seattle/I-5 Corridor North to Arlington area where they receive socialization and training while they await adoption.
Our Adoption Process...
Since we have a small facility on gated acreage, we are unable to stay open to anyone who wishes to come visit. To facilitate successful adoptions we ask interested people and families to fill out an application for the dog or dogs they may be interested in. We screen the applications and then speak with the interested party by phone. If it looks like a good match can be made, we pre-approve the applicant and set an appointment for a meet and greet with the dogs at our facility or with the fosters who have the dogs in their care. We continue the interview in person and make sure the dog and family are a good fit.

Go meet their pets

Since many of our rescues reside with fosters, applicants will meet their potential new family members by appointment either at the Arlington facility or with the foster at an approved site that works for all participants. We look forward to meeting you.

More about this rescue

I began pet rescue at the young age of 11 when I attended Junior High school across the street from a high kill shelter that employed a decompression chamber to kill animals. I never stopped. I have worked with many other rescues and rescued on a small basis. Because of the awareness in Wa. state and the huge base of volunteers and animal lovers in this state, I have endeavored to do this full time in order to save many more lives
