My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Super Kitty – The Timid Hero with a Heart of Gold!

By day, I’m a quiet, mysterious feline lurking in the shadows...
By night, I’m also... pretty much the same.

I am Super Kitty – defender of cozy blankets, protector of cardboard boxes, and master of stealthy hiding spots!

Okay, okay... so maybe I’m not exactly leaping tall cat trees in a single bound just yet. Truth is, I’m a little on the shy side. My superpowers take time to activate, especially around new humans. But trust me—once I warm up to you, you’ll see my secret identity: a sweet, loyal sidekick who just wants to be loved.

I’m looking for a quiet lair (aka home) with a kind, patient human who believes that even the shyest superhero deserves a chance to shine. With your help, I’ll trade my invisibility cloak for a cozy lap and maybe even show off some heroic purrs.
Adopt me, and together we can save the world—one gentle cuddle at a time.

More about this shelter

Our Mission: Safe Animal Shelter is a nonprofit organization working to reduce the number of cats and dogs euthanized in Clay County and surrounding areas.

Safe Animal Shelter is Clay County's oldest no-kill shelter, created for the purpose of preserving and providing quality of life for lost, abandoned, abused and unwanted pets. The first facility opened in Orange Park in the summer of 1991 and continued to operate at that location until moving to a new facility in Middleburg, December 6, 2003. Since its inception, Safe Animal Shelter has provided loving care to over 17,000 cats and dogs until adopted into forever homes.

All rescued animals at the Safe Animal Shelter are provided food, shelter, loving care, attention, socialization, recreation, exercise and quality medical treatment. Medical treatment includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm treatment, corrective surgery and other needed services. Once residents are recovered and ready for adoption, they are placed in carefully screened permanent homes.

Safe Animal Shelter receives no government funding, so private donations from individuals, groups and businesses make a huge difference in the day to day stay in the shelter.
