Meet Ashleigh! Ashleigh is a stunning 2 year old bully breed-type mix who’s ready to find a family she can finally call her own! Sweet Ashleigh was adopted from our shelter a few months ago, but has recently returned when her new home was just not the right fit for her. Ashleigh first arrived at our shelter as a shy, shut down, and unsure stray; but with patience, compassion, and consistent love, she really opened up to our staff and volunteers and we saw a young pup who needed time and patience to teach a nervous girl that there really is some good in the world. Ashleigh has a gentle spirit and so much affection to give. Once she feels safe with you, she’ll happily share her soft snuggles, wagging tail, and even the occasional burst of playful zoomies! This girl loves her toys and is happy to play by herself (but would much rather play with you!) She’s done incredibly well with other dogs here at the shelter and may truly thrive with a friendly, confident canine companion to help guide her and keep her company. Miss Ashleigh will need an adopter who understands that trust takes time. She does experience separation anxiety, so she’s looking for an experienced, patient home that can help her continue building confidence and feeling secure. A calm environment, possibly with another well-mannered friendly dog or a loving human who works from home, would be wonderful for her! At this time, because she can be anxious and easily overwhelmed, we think a home without young children would be the best fit for her. If you believe that the most meaningful relationships grow from understanding and gentle reassurance, Ashleigh might be the perfect match for you. Come meet this special girl and see just how rewarding it is to help a shy pup shine! Ashleigh is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines — she’s all set and waiting for her perfect forever home, we know her humans are out there waiting for her!
