My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Leo – A Gentle Soul Searching for a Second Chance
Leo was originally adopted in 2022 alongside his bonded brother, Willie, after being rescued during a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) project. As a kitten, Leo was shy and fearful, but thanks to the dedication of several patient socializers, he slowly began to come out of his shell and was eventually adopted.
His rescuer remained in close contact over the years—thankfully. This past January, she received a call from a local veterinarian: a cat microchipped to her had been brought in. It was Willie.
Heartbreakingly, both Leo and Willie had been abandoned by their previous "family"—left to fend for themselves outside. Willie was fortunate to be found quickly and adopted by a loving new home. Leo, however, remained missing.
It took nearly three months to locate and safely trap Leo. Today, he is in a caring foster home where he is slowly learning to trust again. While he still doesn’t want to be touched, his progress is inspiring. Instead of hiding under furniture, Leo now comes out to lick treats off his foster’s fingers and even meets him nose to nose.
Leo is searching for an experienced and patient adopter—someone who understands that building trust takes time and who can offer him the calm, loving environment he needs to thrive. All Leo truly wants is a soft bed, a sunny window to watch the world from, and maybe even a feline (or canine) companion. He misses his brother deeply and does well with other gentle pets.
Leo is fully vetted, FIV/FELV negative, and ready for his next chapter.
If you can find room in your heart for a shy, sensitive soul like Leo, you’ll discover what true rescue is all about—loving the ones who need us the most.
We feel Leo has a lot of potential to become a more confident & social cat
