Gemini is a 2 and a half year old male cat who is a bit of a nervous guy at first meeting, but if you go slow and give him a bit of space, he becomes a very affectionate little dude. Trust us, once he comes out of his shell, he will show you what a sweet boy he can be!
Gemini has co-existed with other cats previously, however a slow introduction is always a must, as Gemini prefers to take his time and move at his own pace when getting to know new feline friends. A slow intro will help ensure that both Gemini and his new potential cat companion feel safe and comfortable as they adjust to each other`s presence.

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.

6 months or under: $175
6 months to 5 years: $125
6 years or older (or special needs): $50
Cats
6 months or under: $75 (or two kittens for $100)
6 months to 5 years: $50

Senior to Senior Program: For adopters age 60 or older, adoption fees are reduced to $15 if the animal is 3 years or older. This service is made possible through the Pets for the Elderly Foundation. You will be asked to provide proof of age.
Veteran Pet Program: Veterans and active military personnel receive 25% off of adoption fees. Valid military ID is required.

Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
