Meet Oliver: Your Loyal Adventure Buddy!
Looking for a devoted companion who'll fill your days with joy? Meet Oliver, a handsome 3-year-old Lab/Pit mix with a heart of gold! This neutered boy will celebrate his 4th birthday this November, and he's hoping to do it in his forever home.
Oliver thrives on human connection and routine, making him a predictable and reliable companion. He's been professionally trained and continues to learn, showing what a good listener he truly is. While he responds well to consistent guidance, he needs a calm, firm hand rather than raised voices, as he can be sensitive to yelling.
His playful spirit shines brightest during games of "catch me if you can", he'll grab a toy, flash those soulful eyes, and dash off hoping you'll join in the fun! And if you forget his bedtime toothbrush treat? Expect the gentlest nudges until you remember!
Speaking of nudges, Oliver has mastered the art of gentle communication! When he needs to go outside for a potty break, wants to remind you about a promised treat, or is simply in the mood to play, he'll softly nudge your arm with his nose. It's his polite way of saying, "Excuse me, but I believe we have some unfinished business!"
Oliver is quite the communicator in other ways too! If you happen to leave for a while and forgot something important (like his water or food), he'll let you know when you return with the most melodious "wooo whoo whooowooo" howls, his special way of expressing his feelings that's impossible not to smile at.
One of Oliver's most endearing qualities is his emotional intelligence. When you're feeling down, he'll be right by your side, offering comfort and unconditional support, a true emotional support companion who senses when his humans need extra love.
This loyal boy forms deep bonds with his people and can experience separation anxiety when routines change. Some CBD calming chews have worked wonders to help him feel secure during transitions. Oliver doesn't do well in standard crates, but his current family will provide his special high-anxiety crate designed to help him feel safe and secure – one less thing for you to worry about!
Oliver is fully up-to-date on all his vaccinations and shots, so you can welcome him home with complete peace of mind about his health.
Oliver would do best as the only pet in a home with experienced dog owners who understand larger breeds. He's never shared his space with other pets and would prefer to keep all your love and attention for himself!
Are you ready to welcome this lovable goofball into your life? Oliver is ready to fill your home with endless love, playful antics, and unwavering loyalty.

Adoption Fees:
Adoption fees are donations to Shelter Survivors, not payment for value received, and are based primarily on the age, health, and temperament of a particular dog, and our expenses. Shelter Survivors is not an actual shelter, and we are not subsidized. Most shelters receive municipal funding, while Shelter Survivors operates on adoption fees and donations. All of our members are volunteers, and none of us receives a salary or payment of any kind. Our funds go 100% toward the care of our dogs, primarily for veterinary expenses. Volunteers usually pay the costs for transport, fostering, phone calls, postage, and adoption screening out of their own pockets.
The adoption fees range from $200.00 to $300.00, which is a bargain when you consider that spaying/neutering, testing, training and inoculations are usually included. Any difference in fee is noted in the description of the individual pet. Many animals have been micro-chipped.
