My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jack Sparrow is a cute one-year old male Hound mix who was surrendered by his owner on May 15, 2025.

This good-looking young man has a sleek brown/brindle short smooth coat with a large patch of white on his chest, a long tail, and an adorable face with dark brown eyes, a slender muzzle, and large semi-erect ears.

Jack Sparrow was a frightened little guy when we took these preliminary photos in the lobby of our shelter soon after his arrival. Thanks to HSOV Shelter Manager Tracy Lynn for giving Jack the moral support to 'pose pretty' for his first photos. We don't know much about his personality yet but have been told that he is protective of his food.

Jack Sparrow weighs 40 lbs and is a fairly small dog when you see him in person.

Jack Sparrow will be neutered before being adopted by his new family. He could be fostered-to-adopt while he is awaiting his neuter procedure with an approved HSOV foster/adoption application.

Update 5/23/2025: Thanks to our HSOV Shelter Manager Tracy Lynn who has provided her assessment of Jack Sparrow now that he has been in our shelter several days.

"Jack Sparrow is absolutely amazing! He doesn't pull on a leash, loves cats, and is housebroken. Jack Sparrow would be a great family dog. He has been around children, and we haven't heard him bark since he's been in our shelter."

Update: Jack Sparrow went home with a foster family on June 15, 2025 who plans to adopt him after he is neutered.
