Meet Roman – Our Mysterious Spirit Cat
Roman is just under 2 years old grey tabby with striking good looks and a quiet, watchful presence. He’s what we lovingly call a spirit cat — a feline friend who prefers the background to the spotlight. Roman doesn't trust people and he's not looking for cuddles or lap time. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have his charms. He enjoys playing by himself from a distance. He likes toys that move so he can try to get them. Treats? He’s a fan — as long as you respect his space. While human companionship isn’t his thing right now, Roman does very well with other cats. He would thrive in a calm, cat-savvy home where he has a friendly feline companion and people who understand that love comes in many forms — even if it doesn’t look like headbutts or snuggles. Roman is looking for a patient, understanding adopter who’s willing to let him be himself. If you have a quiet home, a kind heart, and an appreciation for the beauty of shy souls, Roman could be the perfect low-maintenance companion for you. Let him live life on his terms — and you just might get the quiet joy of watching him bloom.
Spirit cats will live in your home, but are sometimes rarely seen. They are cats that live with you and who may sometimes grant you the opportunity to touch them...or, they may not. Spirit cats are great with other cats. They are also a great choice for people with a quiet household, who want to make a difference for an individual cat. They won’t magically turn into normal acting cats; what you see is what they will be like for a long time, maybe always. Some will change more than others, but be prepared for what you see now.
Cats are negative for FelV/FIV, receive age-appropriate vaccines and deworming, are spayed/neutered and are microchipped (free lifetime registration with adoption).
All of our pets go home with a "Go Home Goody Bag" that includes a starter supply of food, treats, toys, and a voucher for a free month of pet insurance from Trupanion.
