MEET JANET: A Future Lifeguard in Training!
At nearly 1 year old old and about 50 lbs, Janet is a sweet, adventurous pup with a heart as big as her splash radius. This water-loving girl doesn’t need an ocean to be happy—a kiddie pool, a water bowl, or even a mop bucket will do! After a good “swim” of any sort, she loves nothing better than to settle into your lap for a snooze and cuddle.
But behind her silly splashes is a pup who’s still finding her way. Once all of her littermates got adopted, Janet became a little shy and unsure of new humans. What she needs is a confident canine buddy to show her the ropes—someone who can help her build confidence, trust, and independence. With the right dog friend and some patient humans, Janet is going to blossom into the best of companions!
This is also the perfect time to dive into training, socialization and bonding. She's already wonderful with other dogs, but she will need practice with people. She’s spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention—ready to go!
If you’ve got a kind heart and space for a kiddie pool (and maybe a real one), Janet would love to meet you. Whether you're ready to adopt or foster, she’s waiting to find her pack and her place in the world.

To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.
We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.
