Dixie is a gentle 4-year-old Hound mix who will melt your heart with her calm nature and loving eyes. This 45–50 lb sweetheart is fantastic on a leash, great with kids and other dogs, and a certified snuggle bug who just wants to be by your side. She hasn’t been tested with cats, but her easygoing nature makes her a lovable companion for most families. Dixie is spayed, microchipped, and will be fully vaccinated with Rabies, Distemper, Lepto, and Bordetella by May 29, 2025. She came to us as a stray, but she’s more than ready for a stable, loving home.

Please give us a few days to review your application. If approved, you’ll receive an email from adoptions@hoovesandpaws.org to schedule a meet and greet (including any necessary dog-to-dog introductions).

If the meet and greet goes well and you’d like to move forward, we’ll schedule a home check—this means we’ll bring your new furry friend to your home ourselves. This helps ensure a smooth transition and gives your new pup a familiar face upon arrival. We’ll finalize the adoption at that time!
