Here's what the humans have to say about me:
?? FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOME NEEDED FOR ALF ?? We’re looking for someone special to write the next chapter in Alf’s life — because this boy has already been through so much, and he deserves a beautiful ending. Alf was found as a stray and brought to Chatham Animal Control. But it was obvious — this wasn’t just a street dog. Alf knew things. He had manners. He listened. He respected people. This boy had clearly been someone’s companion. When he came to us, Alf was in awful shape: ?? Emaciated at just 58 lbs ?? Severe skin infections (bacterial + yeast) ?? Punctured eardrums from brutal, untreated infections ?? Miserable and hurting, but still so, so gentle With love, care, and vet support, Alf is healing. He’s now 80 lbs and growing stronger every day. We’ve learned he has a B12 deficiency, which we’re treating, and it’s helping him bounce back beautifully. Alf’s personality? Pure devotion. ?? ?? He’s OBSESSED with fetch (he’ll play until you give up). ?? He’s good with other dogs, but can guard bones/food — so any dog friendships need to be well-managed. ?? Honestly? He would LOVE to be an only dog. He bonds hard and just wants to give his whole heart to his person. ?? He has a special connection with men — maybe his former owner was a man who passed away. We’ll never know for sure, but we do know that Alf is looking for someone to belong to again. Important notes: ?? No young kids — his ears are still painful and healing ?? He’s a big, strong dog — you need to be confident handling him ?? He’s not 100% yet — his care needs to continue (and we’ll help with that!) That’s why we’re doing a foster-to-adopt placement — so we can support Alf and his new person through this next phase. He’s covered in thick fur in some places, peach fuzz in others. His ears are still our biggest concern. But this boy is so worth it. We’re asking: could YOU be the one to give Alf the life he’s been waiting for? Because this dog? He’s more than just a rescue. He’s a survivor with a heart that hasn’t given up. ?? Located in Savannah ?? Submit your application to online at: https://oneloveanimalrescue.com/pre-adoption-application if you’d like to meet Alf or learn more! Please share — help us find Alf his person. ????

More about this rescue
The mission of One Love Animal Rescue, Inc. is to help abandoned, neglected, abused and unwanted pets by partnering with shelters, rescue groups and the community to facilitate adoption of these animals into permanent and loving homes.
Our goal is to save one life at a time by promoting local animal shelter adoptions and raising awareness in our community about responsible pet ownership. We strive to highlight the importance of spaying or neutering pets which will aid in the reduction of overpopulation. We believe that appropriate and positive reinforcement training and socialization of these shelter animals will lead to well-adjusted family pets, thereby decreasing the number of abandoned animals in shelters. Our dream is that one day all the shelters will be empty because every pet will have a home.
One Love Animal Rescue, Inc. is a volunteer based organization located in Savannah, Georgia. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit and all donations directly benefit the animals entrusted in our care.
