Dog Date Diaries: Indigo’s Adventure! ?? This weekend, Indigo got a much-deserved break from the shelter for a fun dog date—and she had the best time! Her foster friends took her on a hike through Rentschler Forest and treated her to a vanilla Frosty at Wendy’s. Indigo was full of energy on the trail, curious about everything, and even tried to chase a squirrel or two. ??? She walked nicely on leash, met another couple along the way, and was friendly and sweet with everyone she met. In the car, she proved she’s a true lap dog at heart—snuggling right up and wanting to be close. She loved all the pets and cuddles, took French fries very gently, and while she wasn’t too interested in treats or her Frosty, she still soaked up every bit of the experience. Indigo is a very sweet, affectionate girl with so much love to give. She may not know any commands yet, but her good behavior and friendly nature speak volumes. ?? AFHS is open 7 days a week, and adoptions are first come, first serve. We encourage you to visit the shelter to meet our pets.

Unless the animal is in a foster home, then you can visit with all of our adoptable pets anytime during operating hours, no appt. needed.

Cats - 5 months and over: $30.00
Kittens - 4 months and under: $50.00
Senior Cats - 7+ years: $10.00
Dogs – 5 months and over: $125
Puppies – 4 months and under: $200
Senior Dogs - 7+ years: $75
Each animal receives age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter, flea/tick prevention, microchip, county license & Heartworm prevention for dogs, trial bag of Hill's Science Diet food, and 30 days free pet insurance. AFHS is open 7 days a week and no appointment is needed to visit with adoptable pets!
Dogs must leave the shelter with a collar and leash, which can be purchased at the shelter at the time of adoption if you do not have one to bring with you.
