My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Well helloooooo there!!! My name is ETHAN and I am a 4 year old Jindo/Spritz mix currently living in South Korea!

PHYSICAL INFO:

  • Breed: Jindo/Spitz Mix (?? - truly a best guess!)

  • Age: 4 years (est. birth: Apr 2021)

  • Gender: N. Male

  • Weight: 22 lbs (10 kg)

  • Height: 55 cm (paws to top of my head)

  • Length: 65 cm (head to butt)

  • Current Location: S. KOREA

RESCUE STORY - I'm a friendly boy with a beautiful black and tan coat. I was found on the streets of South Korea with my siblings when we were just 3 months old. We ended up in a high-kill shelter, but luckily, a rescue team saved us just in time! I got to spend part of my puppyhood in a loving foster home, where I learned how wonderful it feels to be part of a family. It's been a few years since then, and even though I'm back at the shelter, I haven't forgotten. I'm so ready to find my forever home and share all the love I have to give!

TEMPERAMENT – I'm a friendly and affectionate guy who loves nothing more than snuggling up with my people. I'm usually good with new volunteers at the shelter too (video)— I just need a little time to warm up to new faces. My ideal home would be a peaceful place without other furry friends or kids — just me and my people, living our best life together! I'm a curious boy on walks and really enjoy sniffing the world around me (video).

ENERGY LEVEL – Medium-High. I'm a pretty energetic boy who loves running around! I'd be a great match for an active family that enjoys outdoor adventures.

GETS ALONG WITH:

  • Kids – No thank you! As a timid boy, I am not fond of young children.

  • Dogs – Generally good with other dogs outside (check my videos!), but the shelter staff say I tend to be bossy occasionally with other shelter dogs. I would thrive as the only dog in the family! Although a bit skittish/timid, I am a good boy when meeting other dogs on leash (video, video 2). I'd love to find a home where the focus can be on neutrality around other dogs and peaceful coexistence- I don't need to go meet other doggies if I'm not feeling confident.

  • Cats – Unknown.

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

  • Leash skills – Pretty good! I have had a few walking sessions with volunteers. They say I’m very gentle on a leash and follow my handler's lead well! Here are some videos of me walkin' on leash (video 1, video 2, video 3) I loveeee a good sniffari

  • House trained – As a clean boy, I only went potty outdoors during the foster period and still use the bathroom outside the kennel in the shelter. I would be a great fit for someone who would appreciate a cleaner pup like me!

  • Car rides – I’m comfortable with car rides! Check out my video :)

Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.

HEALTH NOTES:

  • I am spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.

  • I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying to Canada.

  • I will have dental cleaning, if necessary, before flying to Canada.

    • NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

  • My adoption fee is $728.00 CAD ($650.00 + GST & PST) including applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.
