My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DNA Tested: 75% German Shepherd; secondary breed White Swiss Shepherd

Animal Profile: Strudel is an estimated 11-month-old female shepherd mix weighing approximately 60lb who spent five weeks along with her littermates in a crowded shelter; one of the pups was adopted but four remained languishing for weeks, so they've joined us in Seattle. They were spared euthanasia for space due to their sweet and social nature and they are friendly with all dogs and people. We will share more information as we get to know them in foster care.

Foster Update: Strudel is a 60lb 11-month-old shepherd mix that is the most perfect shepherd you could ask for. She is extremely loving, happy, and doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She currently lives in a foster home with a resident dog, 2 cats, and quail - and she does fantastic with them all! Strudel adores all people. She loves to meet strangers, especially kids, and dogs we encounter in our day to day. She is an exuberant young dog that does well matching the energy in different situations. She is fairly energetic, but when given the right mental and physical stimulation she is very content. She is a big cuddle bug and is mellow when inside the house. Strudel is incredibly smart, biddable, and wanting to please her humans. She is very well trained and often gets compliments when we are out in public at dog-friendly breweries and restaurants. She is crate trained and gleefully goes into her crate whenever asked. Being a shepherd, she does soft whining to communicate whatever she is feeling, but is not a big barker. When there are sirens, she will show off her very impressive howl! Playing soccer, fetch, and tug are her most favorite games. She loves going on hikes, splashing around in water, and is the perfect passenger for car rides. Strudel would thrive in an active home that has a lot of love to give and is ready for the most faithful companion!

Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, deworming, microchip and registration, heartworm test for dogs over 6 months, and recent vet exam.  Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization.

Animal History: Strudel and her littermates were taken into Moreno Valley animal shelter on April 9, 2025 and at risk for euthanasia due to overcrowded. They will be transported via WiggleButts arriving to DGS foster care on Sunday May 25. They will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.
