My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

VELCRO DOG TRIPOD looking for her forever home!

BASICS:
-- 3 to 4 years old (estimate)
-- 50 pounds
-- Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped
-- Potty trained
-- Super food motivated
-- Good car rider
-- TOTAL VELCRO DOG, 10/10 snuggle cuddle level
-- Good energy level mixture of play and couch potato

PERSONALITY: Major shadow dog and velcro dog!!!!!! She will follow your every last step. Lady believes everything is done better together. Say goodbye to peeing alone (or doing anything alone). Lady is a top notch snuggler and cuddler. She is goofy and loves a good Nylabone.

DOGS: Lady is in foster with multiple medium-large dogs and integrated in with them all after proper intros. Lady gets overstimulated in busy environments though (e.g. doggy day care play groups, too much rough housing among a pack, etc) and appreciates more calm, orderly situations. She would also thrive perfectly as an only dog.

CATS: Only had one brief cat experience, but chased the cats in that instance

KIDS: Older kids unknown, but younger kids and their busy tendencies probably not a match with Lady’s overstimulation tendencies

BACKSTORY: Lady wandered up to someone’s home with a severely mangled foot that was wrapped in a sock and electrical tape. What happened to the foot will always be a mystery, but it was too far beyond repair. Luckily, she gets around fabulously on 3 legs and what she lacks in legs — she makes up for in ears!

AVAILABILITY: Available for adoption or foster-to-adopt (FTA). FTA is a two week, commitment free and pressure free, trial run to make sure things are a match before sealing the deal.

LOCATION: Currently located in Jackson, GA. We do a home visit with all fosters/adopters, so no need to travel, we come to you anywhere within 2 hours of Jackson, GA!

More about this rescue

Joy’s Promise is a promise to keep fighting for those like Joy. The discarded, unwanted, abused and neglected. It won’t always look like Joy, a pregnant mama facing euthanasia. It might be a pittie sitting animal control for months, years unwanted. It might be a boxer mix from a terrible hoarding case. It might be an owner surrender that lost everything they have ever known. It might be a box of puppies who were tossed without the slightest remorse. Joy’s Promise is a promise for Joy’s death to not be in vain, but a catalyst for more lives saved.

Joy’s Promise Canine Rescue is a registered nonprofit corporation and an actively licensed GDA animal shelter. We are a foster-based organization in the process of filing 501c3 paperwork.
