My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sofie’s Motor Club Puppies — Built for Love, Fueled by Cuteness

Start your engines… because these little classics are ready to cruise into your heart! Born in the Corsicana Shelter, this litter has spent their first miles in foster care, growing strong under the watchful eye of their sweet mama, Sofie—a small, smooth-coated Chow/Shepherd mix with a soft heart and a signature purple tongue.

We suspect Sofie had a midnight rendezvous with a masked mystery man, because most of her pups sport those striking face masks and silky coats.

Meet the crew:
Harley (female): Sofie’s “mini-me,” confident and sweet — expected to be about her mom’s size.
Holley (female): The tiniest “pixie pup” of the bunch — spunky, cuddly, and full of personality!
Scout (male) — ready for adventure and mischief
Shelby (male) — the speedster of the group (he may even have blue-green eyes to match his showstopper style!)

These babies were born into the shelter system—but they’re destined for the open road and the open arms of loving families. Could one of them be your forever co-pilot?

** The Motor Club puppies are located in Hallsville, TX. Interested adopters must be able to pick up locally.**

More about this rescue

Houston Chow Chow Connection is a collaborative of dog lovers and rescuers that dedicate their time, efforts and talents toward helping rescue Chow Chows in need. We are an entirely volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) organization with no administrative costs.

Our rescue traces its origin back several years to the work of Dianne Watson. Dianne dedicated much of her young life to saving homeless Chows in North and West Texas. In her memory, Houston Chow Chow Connection continues her passion of uniting Chow Chows with perfect forever families.

HCCC began rescuing in 2013 and re-homed over 400 dogs since inception, including over 125 in 2017! Our dogs found homes on the East and West coasts of the U.S. and have traveled north and south! As we continue to rescue and re-home more and more Chows, our costs grow. As you may know, rescuing animals takes money. Not only is there the typical care and upkeep (including food and general veterinary care), some of our rescues need specialized treatments.

At HCCC we don’t pick and choose the dogs we rescue – they pick us. While the majority of our rescues are healthy, we never turn our backs on the homeless, Chows with physical issues, or disabilities. Some of our incoming babies have suffered long-term and extensive neglect. New HCCC dogs may require spay/neuter, shaving due to extensive matting, entropion and/or hip replacement surgeries, treatment of skin problems and a variety of other issues.
