Meet Eclipse 🌒
This soulful-eyed 4-year-old, 60-pound Treeing Walker Coonhound is as gentle as his name suggests. Eclipse came to us from Tennessee, and while we don’t know everything about his past, it’s clear he’s been through more than his fair share. His soft, raspy voice suggests his vocal cords may have been altered—a heartbreaking reminder that his former life may not have always been kind. But Eclipse is all heart, and he's ready to start fresh with a family who will love him for the incredible dog he is.
Eclipse is smart, curious, and affectionate in his own sweet way. He’s house trained, crate trained, loves treats, and is learning quickly in his new environment. While he may flinch if touched unexpectedly—especially near his face—once he knows you're safe, he leans in for pets and snuggles, often rubbing his head on you like a cat. It’s his quiet way of saying, “thank you for being kind.”
He loves walks and has a playful, energetic side, though he’s still adjusting to his surroundings. He enjoys being around people, including kids and men, and has been working on his manners with other dogs. With supervision and continued structure, he’ll only grow more confident. He’s also impressively quiet for a hound—he hasn’t barked once in foster care.
