My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Charlie: Your New Favorite Goofball with a Heart of Gold!

If there were a contest for “Most Likely to Steal Your Heart (and Then Your Spot on the Couch),” Charlie would win it paws down. This two-year-old medium-sized Shepherd mix is the perfect blend of playful energy, gentle soul, and snuggly sweetness—and he’s ready to bring all that joy into his forever home.

Charlie didn’t always show his full personality right away, but oh boy, has he warmed up! Now? He’s a total lovebug. The goofiest, cuddliest, happiest boy on the block. His favorite hobbies include: playing with his dog buddies, zooming around the yard, and pressing his head gently into your lap for some well-earned affection. (He’s very good at the cuddle nudge.)

Charlie is a social butterfly with both people and dogs. He respects his canine companions’ space and has formed a little squad of besties at the rescue who match his slightly-rough-but-oh-so-fun play style. They romp, wrestle, and then recharge—usually with a cuddle session.

If you’re looking for a sweet, goofy, people-loving pup who’s always down for some fun but lives for love and snuggles, Charlie’s your guy. Come meet him and prepare to fall head over heels—he’s already everyone’s favorite, and he just might be yours too.

More about this shelter

At Darbster Rescue, our goal is to place kittens, cats, and dogs with great, forever homes in New England. The pets are primarily from South Florida and other southern states where the euthanasia rates are very high. Our shelters are in New Hampshire which has a strong demand for pets relative to supply and where shelters like ours are strictly no kill operations. Our animals will go to their new homes spayed or neutered, UTD on shots and a clean bill of health from FL and NH. We are here to help everyone look for the perfect match for themselves and their family.
