Meet Kickflip! He’s one of the most special and handsome cats that has come through Trash Cat Rescue in a while. He’s a very good boy and loves every person or cat that he’s ever met. He even likes to snuggle his foster mate Kotake in the cat bed. He’s very playful and loves attention. He’ll chase a feather toy all day long. In fact, if you get up and he’s not done playing, he might come over and give you a light smack on the ankle as if to say, “Where do you think you’re going?”
Kickflip is very affectionate and in turn loves being showered with affection himself. It’s hard to take a picture of him because as soon as he sees you, he comes running up for some love. He’s very easygoing and he is fine with being picked up and carried around and loves being kissed all over his big stripey head.
Kickflip came to us with a little limp that resembled riding a skateboard. That’s where his name came from. We’re not really sure what caused the limp, but over the last handful of months, the limp has faded. Now it’s much easier for him to run around and play and climb a cat tree to watch out the window than it used to be.
Kickflip would be okay as a solo cat as long as you have lots of attention to give but he does do very well with other cats. He’s never been around kids or dogs but he’s so easygoing he’d probably be fine with proper introductions.
Kickflip is estimated to be about 8 years old. He has been neutered, dewormed, flea treated, vaccinated, and microchipped, and has tested FIV+ and FeLV negative. Kickflip was recently successfully treated for FIP (feline infectious peritonitis). Although a reinfection with FIP would be considered rare, we would recommend that any interested adopters educate themselves on this disease and what signs/symptoms to look out for. If you’ve got a lot of love to give and want a very affectionate cat companion, Kickflip is your man!

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.
2.
Approve Application
We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.
3.
Interview
We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.
4.
Meet the Pet
Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.
5.
Sign Adoption Contract
At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

Additional adoption info
We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.
Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
