Introducing Luna, a beautiful small gray kitten with the purr of a lion!

Luna is a fascinating mix of sweet innocence and playful sass. She may be little, but she can easily hold her own, running and wrestling with her foster brother like a tiny champion. While she's a capable cat, she also has a deeply affectionate side.

Her cuddles are precious and selective: she chooses her moments, but when she does, she wants only that one person for attention. When she settles in, prepare for the sound of a purr that's much bigger than her tiny body!

Luna will be a little shy when first meeting strangers, so she needs patient people who understand the value of letting her get used to them on her own schedule. Because she’s still learning how to fully let loose and be a confident house cat, she would adore a home with another kitten to help her learn the best ways to play.

Luna is a social girl who is great with kids, dogs, and other cats. Give this tiny treasure the time and space she needs, and you'll be rewarded with a devoted, purring companion!

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Apply online at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SHDY/Cat

2.
Interview

We will call to discuss the kind of cat you would like to add to your family. We will also contact your vet and references so let them know!

3.
Approve Application

You receive an email with a tentative approval pending your home visit, with a link to schedule it at your convenience.

4.
Home Check

A quick video home visit to alert you to any dangers in your home or areas of concerns for a cat (example - crystal glassware on shelves).

5.
Meet the Pet

Come meet a specific cat at a meet and greet planned for you or come to one of our adoption events to pick out your new friend.

6.
Sign Adoption Contract

The adoption contract lists your responsibilities for the safety and health of your new family member.

7.
Pay Fee

Standard domestics: $150 young kitten, $125 juvenile kitten, $75 adult. You pay when you adopt or if you choose to reserve.

Shady's Paw Animal Rescue works diligently to pair our cats with the perfect home. The adoption process can be done in a few hours or it can take weeks - it just depends on when your references call us back and when you schedule your home visit.

Go meet their pets

Adoption events are held regularly in the community at Petco Winchester VA every other Saturday. Additional events are held at area festivals, wineries, breweries, and parks. Approved adopters can schedule a private meet and greet with their chosen pet. Same day adoptions are not done, so please apply in advance of any adoption event to give us time to check vet and personal references and to complete the video home visit.
