Luci is an approximately 3-6 year old American English Coonhound. Luci is both housebroke and kennel trained. As far as we know, the only thing she has been successfully used for hunting is for lizards..she is exceptional in that field..she enjoys the company of dogs that can match her energy and enthusiasm..That being said, Luci is both medium energy and medium high energy. She can be very busy, or completely unbothered in her bed..she will want all your attention or none of it..she has an extremely high metabolism and putting weight on her has been a challenge. She does require a slow feeder, because she will inhale her meals, running the risk of choking or bloat.
Luci has been around children on the smaller size (5-6 years old) and is rather interested in them. However, her enthusiasm can be intimidating to a young child, so maybe better suited with children slightly older than who she has been around..She has never bitten or shown aggression to the children she has been around, but she can be pushy in getting the kids’ attention.
Luci is currently in a home with 3 older dogs, and while she gets along with them, she needs a dog that can match her play/attention needs. The other 3 dogs are happy to just lay around, and Luci wants to play..
