My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DOB: Dec 19, 2018- FIV Positive

Colin is being fostered at one of Toronto Cat Rescue’s pet store partner locations. Please note that if you’re approved to adopt, you’ll need to pick them up from the store within 24 hours of being approved.

Stop by & say hello to Colin at Pet Valu in Bloor West Village!

Meet Colin – a sweet, affectionate boy with a gentle soul and a playful spirit.

Colin may be a little shy at first, but once he settles in and gains confidence, his loving personality shines through. He’s known for his endearing ways of showing affection — rubbing against your legs, nuzzling your hand, or curling up with your foot as his pillow. He’s not a lap cat and doesn’t enjoy being picked up, but he’ll happily keep you company, whether he's lounging on the rug, sunbathing on the floor, or gazing out the window. He can be a conversationalist or serenade you- depending on how you view it.

Playtime is a highlight of Colin’s day! He especially enjoys wand toys, toy mice, catnip pillows, and his nightly game of laser tag. He also looks forward to daily brushing sessions and finds comfort in his favorite "emotional support box" — the perfect spot for him to curl up and relax.

Colin is very food- and treat-motivated. He eats a mix of wet and dry food and isn’t picky about flavors.

Colin would thrive in a calm, quiet home where he can continue to come out of his shell at his own pace. With patience and love, he’ll reward you with companionship, quiet affection, and the joy of watching his playful, quirky personality bloom.

Colin has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). FIV+ cats can live long happy lives with a good diet, low stress, indoor homes, loving families, and annual vet check-ins. They don't require medication and can live in a home with other non-FIV+ cats, as the virus is only passed to other cats by blood (i.e. deep bite marks) and can't be passed to dogs or humans. Please don't judge them based on a blood test!
