Dog Test: (Okay with Dogs) Kafifi would need a slow introduction but I belive would be best with lower energy dogs.
Cat Test: (Ok with Select Cats) Kafifi has queen bee attitude and would prefer to be with lower energy cats.
Kid Test: (Okay with Kids) Kafifi would be just fine in a home with kids.
Litter Box Trained:(Uses Litter Box) Kafifi keeps a clean kennel.
Energy Level: (Low)Kafifi is a sweet, middle-aged black cat who’s ready to embrace her life as the ultimate couch potato. She loves lounging around and spending quiet time with her favorite people. When she wants affection, she’ll stretch out her back toe beans and do a little “dancey dancey” to melt your heart. Kafifi enjoys the occasional tube treat but is a polite, quiet eater. She isn’t looking for excitement—just a loving companion to share her calm, cozy days with while she loafs her way into your heart.

Our shelter is open 7 days a week. (Excluding holidays).
Monday- Friday 8am-5pm
Saturday- Sunday 10am-2pm
We ask that you come visit any time between open and no later than 30 minutes prior to closing. This ensures that staff will have enough time to assist you in meeting one of our great furry friends!

We are a Municipal Animal Shelter for the City of Lee's Summit. We house animals brought in by Lee's Summit Animal Control Officers and Blue Springs Animal Control Officers.
Animals are also brought to us by owners that can no longer keep the animal or by strays that were impounded for running loose.
When an animal comes in as a stray, it is held for 5 days to give the owner a chance to claim it. If the owner does not claim it, on the 6th day it is put up for adoption or foster. During this 5 day holding period, if a potential adopter would like to adopt the animal, they are welcome to sign up on the adoption list. The names on the adoption list are contacted on the 6th day if no owner has made claim.
If there are no names on the adoption list, then the animal will become first come, first served when available for adoption.
