Their adoption process

Newnan-Coweta Humane Society has the standard adoption application, interview, and home visit requirements. We try to match the right family with the right pet for their lifestyle. We want our foster pets and adoptive families to be happy and well-suited.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. This is the first step in our process! It's not an obligation to adopt, but gives us the info we need to contact you!
  2. Interview
    1. The interviewer may ask further questions about answers on the adoption application to make sure the animal is a good fit!
  3. Home Check
    1. This may be done through photographs.
  4. Meet the Pet
    1. We'll arrange a time and place for you to meet the pet (and have the pet meet you and your family) prior to adopting
  5. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. Just sign on the dotted line!!
  6. Pay Fee
    1. Cash and card accepted!
  7. Take the Pet Home
    1. It's time for the fun part! Happy tails!!

Go meet their pets

Saturdays: Cat adoptions from 1-4pm at the Newnan PetSmart, 1072 Highway 34 East, Newnan, GA 30265.

We try to hold dog adoptions at least twice a month at Petsmart.

For additional adoption appointments or to meet one of our dogs, please complete an adoption application and a member of our team will reach out!

More about this rescue

The Newnan-Coweta Humane Society has a dedication and passion to rescue shelter pets located at local kill shelters. Those rescued pets are vetted and vaccinated then placed in our foster care program where they are socialized with our own pets, taught basic manners (dogs/puppies), start crate-training method (dogs/puppies)and in short, get them ready for their forever home. They stay in our foster care system until their forever homes are found. The volunteers of NCHS are dedicated to rescuing homeless pets because there are so many pets in kill shelters that are wonderful, loving pets. They are euthanized simply because they do not have homes.
