Meet Petey – A Sweetheart Looking for a Second Chance

This adorable 9-year-old, 16-pound Chihuahua mix has just joined the Rainbow Bridge Hospice Rescue family — and we’re already completely in love.

Petey is full of life: playful, affectionate, and absolutely adores children. He’s house-trained, neutered, up to date on his shots, and ready to bring joy and comfort to a lucky home.

His journey to us is a bittersweet one. Petey’s loving owner recently went into a nursing home, and sadly, no family members were able to take him in. But now he’s with us — and we’ve promised him a soft landing and a new beginning. ✨

Petey would thrive in a home filled with love, companionship, and maybe even a few kids to dote on him. ❤️

If you’re in the Raleigh, NC area and ready to open your heart to Petey, apply to adopt here:

Please share Petey’s story — together we can find him the forever home he so deserves.

More about this rescue

We bring in the senior dogs and medically needy dogs.
We are a small rescue making a difference in the world. No dog deserves to dumped in a shelter after giving their entire life to a family.

I had locked myself away from the world back in 2010. I saw this tiny ShihTzu on the news that had been saved from a puppy mill bust. I adopted Princess Reagan Marie and she saved my life. I wanted to help other dogs so I started fostering. In May 2021 I open my rescue.
