My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Archie and here is a little info about me:

Breed: Golden Retriever Shepherd Mix
Age: 2 years
Gender: Male
Weight: 60 lbs
Height: 65 cm (ground to shoulder)
Country of origin: Middle East
Highlight(s): Super friendly, cuddly, and playful; very smart and quick learner

A little about me:
Hi there! I’m Archie — a fluffy, friendly guy who loves to cuddle and play. I have my brother Buster by my side, he's my best friend in the world!
My brother Buster and I were just tiny puppies when we were rescued from a breeder in the Middle East.
Back then, life was tough — cramped spaces, little love, and lots of uncertainty. But everything changed when someone kind came to save us. It felt like waking up from a scary dream into a world filled with warmth, soft beds, and endless belly rubs! Since then, Buster and I have been inseparable — growing up together, cuddling, exploring, and learning about all the wonderful things life has to offer. We’re looking for a forever family who understands that adopting us means double the love, double the fun, and two best friends who will always stick together.

We’re bundles of joy wrapped in fluffy coats! Super friendly doesn’t even begin to describe us — we’re like two big teddy bears who love to cuddle up close and soak up all the belly rubs. Playtime is our favorite, whether it’s chasing a ball, learning new tricks, or just goofing around with each other. We’re pretty smart too — Buster and I pick up commands quickly and can’t wait to learn more from our new family. We love meeting other dogs and making new pals, though we haven’t met kids or cats just yet — but we’re curious and excited to see who else we can befriend! We’re the perfect mix of playful energy and calm snuggles, always ready to brighten your day with wagging tails and happy hearts.

The perfect home for us would have a big yard to run around in, lots of daily walks, and a patient owner who can help us keep learning and growing. We love being active, but we also enjoy quiet, cuddle time.

More About Me:
Moderate to high—ready for fun and adventure, but also happy to relax by your side.

I Get Along With:
Dogs: Yes! I love doggy friends.
Cats: Unknown (haven’t met any yet)
Kids: Unknown (haven’t met any yet)

Fears: I’m a brave little survivor, but please be patient as I settle into new environments.

Training: We know some leash and house manners, but we’ll need help continuing our training and learning new things.

Leash skills: Some, but we’d love more practice!
House trained: A little bit, please help us improve!

Health Notes:
I am healthy and ready to go!
I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.

My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. While our rescuers always seek a flight without a charge, there is the possibility of a passenger fee, not to exceed $300.

Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.

Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.

The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.

Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.

While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee.

[MID EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.

Loved At Last Dog Rescue operates in the Greater Vancouver area. We rescue and rehome local dogs as well as homeless dogs from numerous countries around the world, including Mexico, Korea, China, Iran, Kuwait, Bahrain and India. Many of these dogs have experienced hardship and cruelty yet they are gentle and loving. We have found that dogs who have experienced suffering appreciate every kindness shown them. All our dogs are fully vaccinated, microchipped and those over 6 months are spayed or neutered.
