My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cheerio – your pint-sized poodle pal with the bounce of a puppy and the teeth of a dog who just left the doggy dentist. 🦷✨

At an estimated 9 years young, Cheerio clearly missed the memo about slowing down. He’s 17 pounds of pure poodle pep—zooming around like he’s training for the senior Olympics. Don't let the age fool you—this guy’s got the energy of a wind-up toy with fresh batteries.

Let’s talk highlights:
🐶 Great with other dogs – a social butterfly in a curly coat
🏠 Crate champ – happily settles in like it’s his personal spa
✂️ Grooming pro – he got a fresh shave and strutted like it was Fashion Week
🐾 Vet visits? Eh… hit or miss. Some days he’s a model patient, some days he’s like “hard pass, thanks.”
🎾 Playful and energetic – ready to chase toys, tails, or your heart
❤️ Loves attention – if you're sitting down, he's probably already in your lap

Cheerio would thrive in a calm, adult-only household. He’s not suited for a home with children due to the risk of biting when he feels stressed. He can also be possessive with his toys and guard them.

Regarding crates: Cheerio would prefer to avoid the crate life. Though he used one successfully in a previous foster home, in other situations he’s made it clear it’s not his first choice.

Cheerio will need a little ‘settling-in’ time when he first comes home. He does best when given space to adjust and feel safe before being introduced to busy environments or lots of new people. Once he’s comfortable, his sweet personality really shines.

Adopt Cheerio – because life’s better with a little fluff, a lot of love, and a dog who’s always ready for playtime. 🐩💫

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
