Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sophie is like a Sour Patch Kid: first she's sour, then she's sweet! She may be a bit unsure at first, but once she feels safe, Sophie's sweet side shines through. This is very typical of her chihuahua-terrier roots, and with a little patience, Sophie quickly blossoms into a loving companion.
Once she warms up, Sophie becomes incredibly affectionate and will happily roll over for belly rubs within just a few days. She forms strong bonds with her people and truly loves being close to her favorite human.
Sophie would do best in a calm, predictable home. She can be a bit bossy with other dogs, so any canine companions should be well-socialized, tolerant, and respectful of her space. A quieter household suits her best, as her previous home with small children and a large, energetic puppy was simply too overwhelming for her.
She is house-trained, sleeps peacefully through the night in her crate beside the bed, and does great when left home. She may experience a little separation anxiety at first, but it typically fades within a few weeks and she has never been destructive. In her current foster home, she comfortably has free run of the house while her humans are away.
An older couple or a single adopter looking for a devoted, snuggly companion would be absolutely smitten with Sophie. She’s ready to give her whole heart to someone who will give her the calm, loving home she deserves.
