My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We adopted Dahlia into our family in 2020 when she was about 1. She was timid at first but she did warm up to us quickly so we didnt expect her anxiety to be an ongoing issue for the rest of her life. It was manageable as we learned her triggers, but now that our family is growing with kids, she has become more anxious because they are overstimulating to her. She was great with an infant, but our active toddler has her constantly on edge & we just welcomed another baby. Dahlia is protective over me, her female owner, and is not aggressive to her male owner but will show anxious tracking and ankle nipping behavior around other men in an effort to "protect." She barks often at sounds & has never bitten anyone in our family but will growl and yelp when winding down at night if anyone enters her space.
All that being said she is playful, affectionate, friendly with other dogs, and extremely food motivated. We love her, but she would be more comfortable in a home without kids.
