My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please Contact my foster for more info about me @r.c.briggs21@gmail.com

Russ is a volunteer favorite because of how enjoyable he is to walk on leash and how fun he is to play with in the play yards. He’s super affectionate and quickly bonds to the people he meets. He is trusting and affectionate and responds quickly to correction (jumps a little when he first sees you). He is confident and eager to please, enjoying the praise he gets for learning new things (Sit, pottying outside). He wags his tail in a friendly manner, when he sees other dogs.

- confident, affectionate boy
- easy to walk and non-reactive at shelter
- eager to please and happy go lucky
- working on basic dog skills which would be a lot easier in a home!
- Such a snuggle bug, really adores people
- Happy-go-lucky attitude and vibe with his floppy ears and forehead wrinkles giving him resting concerned face
- Good listener and seems eager to please
- Walks calmly on leash and checks in with you frequently
- Takes treats gently
- Knows tricks like sit
- Calm in the car — Good roadtrip buddy
- Well behaved for baths, grooming, seemed to enjoy the massage and attention
- Loves exploring the trails and seems like he`d make an excellent adventure buddy
- Loves chasing toys
- Non-reactive to dogs on leash and playful body language through fence. However, we know that he does not like dogs being in his face and he does not seem to like high energy dogs. We recommend keeping Red separate and following a slow-intro protocol before potentially testing the boundaries of introducing/integrating him into a multi-dog home.

More about this shelter

Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control's pet adoption program brings animals and people together. If you are looking for a new pet, ACC has a wide variety of animals to adopt; from dogs and cats, rabbits and guinea pigs, to the occasional snake and pot-bellied pigs. The shelter also has two specially designed bonding areas for people to interact and play with the animals they are considering for adoption.
