Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet, sweet, puppy Bennie is a complete gem.
She had a very rough start when she was left unattended by her owners, and got attacked by a cat that left her with one eye only. She was a baby and her owners thought it was okay to dump her instead of taking him to the vet. But despite this incident, Bennie turned out to be a very loving, and trusting puppy, who craves affection and fully trusts her humans.
But a good Samaritan found her and she was brought to our vet from where we got her.
Bennie was sent to live in a foster home with three of our German Shepherd puppies, as they were all the same age, and Bennie became their fourth sibling.
Bennie is an extremely adorable fun loving, lively and playful pup, who moves around fine with one eye. She’s full of love, joy, and curiosity, always ready to explore, chase toys, and run around with other dogs. Bennie still likes to go play with her kitty foster, and has not learned her lesson of course.
Bennie currently lives with her 15 months old foster sister Echo, and the two romp around and play all day. Bennie will definitely benefit from having a second dog to play with. She is also very gentle with her senior 10 year old foster sister and respects her boundary. She is a very intelligent pup.
Bennie is very loving, and loves her humans and craves affection and is quite a velcro pup, who loves to come to give kisses to her foster parents in the middle of her play.
Bennie was born in January 2025, weighs around 25 lb, and growing. She is current on her vaccination, is spayed, microchipped and kept on deworming schedule, and heartworm and flea preventatives.
She is currently being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, even Canada to the right home. Canadian adopters will have to pick up puppies and kitties from the nearest USA city and accompany them into the country per the country's protocol.
Bennie's adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, Harness and Interstate Health Certificate for our out of state adopters. There is a travel fee that can be between $200 - $300 depending on the destination and size of the pup.

Yards, if any, must be adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.
Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them.
Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.
