Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Opal – A True Survivor with a Heart of Gold
DOB: May 12, 2023
Location: RTC Rescue
Opal’s story is one of courage, strength, and endless love. 💜
This beautiful girl came into our care in October 2024 from Lisbon, desperately ill, while caring for her kittens. She was diagnosed with FIP—a disease once considered a death sentence. But Opal is no ordinary cat. She has always been incredibly vibrant no matter the circumstances, and fought with persistent determination. She recently graduated from FIP Nation in May 2025—a true testament to her resilience and will to live.
Now healed and as full of life as ever, Opal is ready to find the forever home she so deeply deserves. Her foster mom knows Opal will make her family incredibly happy with all of her entertaining antics, and her shining purr-sonality! Her moment has been a long time coming!
- Sweet, funny, and endlessly affectionate, she’s a chatty little purr machine who still has that playful kitten energy.
- She adores her humans and will follow you from room to room just to be near you.
- Loves her treats, bird-watching, spring toys—and curling up for a cozy cuddle.
- Gets along with other cats easily and is likely to do great with dogs too—after all, all of her adopted kittens live happily with them!
Opal is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped—now all she needs is a family to love her as much as she’ll love them.
Come meet the cat who overcame the odds—and is now ready to bring light and laughter to your life.
