Nelly is a one‑year‑old sweetheart whose three defining words are happy, playful, and shy.
Found in the city dump after being attacked by larger dogs, she carries a few scars—but her spirit has healed beautifully. With patience and love, she blossomed in her foster home, discovering joy in swimming (truly her favorite thing in the world), playing with other dogs, and shredding fallen coconuts with great enthusiasm.
Nelly is still reserved with new people, but once she trusts you, those soft doe eyes say everything. She thrives in an active home, ideally with another friendly dog and plenty of opportunities to play, explore, and—most importantly—swim.
She wouldn’t do well being left alone for long stretches or in a low‑activity environment. Nelly is ready for a family who sees her gentle heart and gives her the life she deserves. This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. Once approved, we establish transport for your dog and work out delivery which is usually to an airport near your city (unless you are here in La Paz).
Adoption fees are $400 USD and transport fees are typically a flat $350 to any city that Alaska Airlines flies direct from San Diego. Adoptions for dogs to be living in Mexico are $1500 + Transport Fees.
Dogs traveling outside of Mexico are certified and have all appropriate documentation, shots, tests, and exams. In addition to the rescuing and medical rehabilitation of these dogs, we have regular training classes for the dogs to encourage socialization as well as leash and crate training while they are in their foster homes awaiting adoption.
Our adoption team supplies information, and tools, recommended training books. They also perform periodic adoption follow ups and assistance for adoptive families. We want each of our dogs to be set up for success in their new home. Our goal is to provide adopters with a complete package of rescue, care, and adoption support to promote a successful, happy life for you and your new dog.

Dogs that are rescued from the streets are fostered in homes where they are treated as members of the family. They are often fostered with other dogs and sometimes cats and children.
Our organization encourages more in the community to rescue and foster by offering a support system of food, medical care, and professional training. As rescuers get involved, they educate their neighbors, family, and friends about the importance of proper animal care, spaying/ neutering, and thus help to break the cycle of abuse and neglect.
