My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peggy had to have an amputation and was pretty scared of everything when we first met her.

She spent some time with the wonderful Bailey at Ideal Canine while she worked on her socialization, got and started healing from, her amputation!

Peggy has *mastered* 3-legged life, she runs, she plays, she takes walks (although as a front tripaw, taking slow leash-walks can be more exhausting than for a normal dog.)

She’s still working on her stamina, but she enjoys every second of life!

Peggy LOVES water!!

Peggy would do best in a home with at least one other, social, confident, playful dog.

She takes corrections well when she plays a little too rough, but still has quite a bit of puppy-energy!

She loves running and playing in the yard with her besties!

Peggy is crate trained, has started basic obedience training, and walks well on a leash.

She would love to find an adopter that can continue to build her confidence, take her on lots of adventures!

Peggy would be a-o-k with kids 10+, as she’s still a young Malinois who can be a little nippy when she plays with her humans.

She is pretty interested in the cat, so probably no with kitties

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

If you see a pet you’re interested in or you don’t but you would like to adopt from our organization anyway, please fill out an application!

2.

Meet the Pet

We set up first meet and greets in a public location for you to get to know the dog(s) you’re interested in.

3.

Meet the Pet

We do require a second meet and greet, which also helps if you’re torn between multiples! We encourage you to meet at least 2 dogs!

4.

Home Check

If the home check is goes well and everyone is still confident, the contract is signed, fee paid and your new dog can stay that day!

More about this rescue

We are long-time animal lovers working hard to reduce the number of euthanized dogs in shelters. Our ultimate goal is to house and employ veterans, teach them how to prepare a dog for adoption and should they wish, reach them to run a successful rescue so they may take our model and open one anywhere there’s a need of Veterans and K9’s alike!
