My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Willow’s world once felt a little too chaotic. In a busy household with young children, she struggled to find the tranquility she craved. Though loved, her stress was evident, and concerns about her well-being led to a difficult but necessary decision—to find her a home where she could truly thrive.

Now, this breathtaking calico beauty is ready for a fresh start. At 8 years old, Willow carries the gentle wisdom of experience. She’s incredibly sweet, her soft purrs and affectionate gaze proof of the love she has to give. With her striking patches of orange, black, and white, she’s as stunning on the outside as she is on the inside.

Willow would flourish in a peaceful home where she’s the center of attention—no other cats, no children, just a calm and understanding space where she can fully relax. While her thoughts on dogs remain a mystery, one thing is certain: she’s ready to start over with someone who cherishes her.

She is FIV/FELV negative, fully vaccinated, and microchipped, making her more than ready to settle into her forever home.

Could you be the one to give Willow the comfort and love she’s been waiting for?

More about this rescue

We founded the Duette Animal Rescue Team (DART) in 2020 in Manatee County. DART is a volunteer-based animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing former domestic and exotic pets such as prosimians and cats with behavioral challenges. We learned about the plight for exotic pets held in captivity and lack of understanding of the care they need as wild animals. We support causes that advocate for the conservation of these species in the wild in their native countries. By working with a network of zo's, private owners, zoo staff volunteer advocates, foster caregivers, local veterinarians, trainers, and shelters,
DART strives to rescue animals and provide these animals with behavioral rehabilitation and care. We catch cats to assist with the management of stray cat overpopulation in the community. We rehabilitate the cats so that we can put them up for adoption and have a better quality of life. For example, cat litter box training and socialization.
