Ruby is a KOKONI MIX about 2 and a half years old and weighs aprox. 8 kg or 17 pounds.
Anastasia had a hunch that the person, who tied "YOULIA" outside an abandoned old shed filled with garbage, would likely have replaced her and went there to check (for "YOULIA'S" full story please visit her post). And she was right. She found little "RUBY" just at the same spot, fastened with the same rusty chain, the same old dirty water and no food.
"RUBY" though is nothing like our fearless and bold "YOULIA", who had probably intimidated the roaming jackals into avoiding her. Our "RUBY" is on the shy and timid side, and though she is social with people and animals, she is nowhere near daring or brash. She is still a bit scared of sudden noises.
Anastasia unchained "RUBY" and took her to our vet, where they proceeded with all appropriate procedures and pronounced her healthy and fit.
She then brought the little girl to our sanctuary. In the beginning "RUBY" was overwhelmed by so many new dogs and people, but she is quickly becoming much more self-confident and comfortable. She is quite affectionate and loves to be petted, though you can tell she had never been picked up in a loving embrace before.
We have since had her spayed, fully vaccinated, vetted, and microchipped while taking care of her training and housebreaking.
