My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Despite his name, Edmonton is not a big hockey guy but is willing to become one if that's important to his furever peeps because this guy is simply...go with the flow. This lab mix adult weighs about 64 lbs and is a little lean, so will likely need to gain just a few more to full out. This black and white handsome devil (not from New Jersey though) has been nothing but laid back since arriving to the farm. He settles in nicely where ever he goes and has been adored by all of his hosts! Edmonton is totally willing to engage the power play to get to that. Edmonton has some early onset his dysplasia but nothing at all that impacts his activity in the current day at all and is a condition that might need some management as he gets older. If you meet him, you will easily see there is little to stop this guy from loving everyone around him and fully engaging in his best life. This gentle guy would likely settle into most homes easily though does prefer being the male dog in the home. He is quiet and well behaved in his crate, always patient and not pushy and so appreciative for everything. Edmonton is ready to SCORE! his furever family (and will wear a hockey jersey during the winter months if desired)! Edmonton will be happy to head on out with his furever family with his fee waived for prior adopters, hosts or fosters.
*Weekend Sleepover feedback: "Any and every weekend with Edmonton is the best!! He is so well behaved all around, whether thats walking on a leash, telling you he needs to go out, sitting with you at a restaurant while you eat, and playing with other dogs or kids. Edmonton has the biggest and goofiest personality, he is always wagging his tail ready to give a new friend some kisses. A true gentle giant".
*Additional feedback: "Edmonton has been a joy to have this weekend! He’s such a sweet boy who settled in pretty quickly. He loves to get belly rubs and give kisses. He’s been very affectionate 🥰 and comfortable here.
Edmonton was great in the car. Quiet the whole weekend. I don’t think I’ve heard him bark once! It was a chill weekend here. Edmonton walks well with the harness and leash. We walked several times each day and with a neighbor and his dog both days. Very friendly".

Recent Weekend Host Feedback: "From the moment Edmonton arrived at our home, he made himself right at home, claiming the couch and snuggling into bed like he had always been part of the family. He’s a very chill, easygoing guy outside of the occasional burst of zoomies. Edmonton is happiest when he’s with his people. He wasn’t thrilled about going into the crate at first, once inside he settled down quickly and didn’t make a sound. He’s also fully potty trained and didn’t have a single accident while staying with us, which made him an absolute dream house guest. Edmonton is a great travel buddy. He rides beautifully in the car. During our weekend together, we went on many walks and even made a stop at a brewery. He doesn’t know a stranger and was excited to meet new people, doing great with both humans and other dogs.
Edmonton is a goofy, affectionate boy with so much love to give."

Additional adoption info

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccines, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.

If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please complete an Adoption Application at our website: savinggracenc.org

Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.

Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.

More about this rescue

Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.

We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
